Playing around with photoshop

-Changing Hair Colour

 Above is a photography I had previously taken, but wanted to further experiment with it, as my final piece will contain photography this was to practice with editing techniques. The photograph is quite a dramatic portrait putting the main focus on the subject at the centre of the image. The image is clear, so I each part of the photograph is defined. In Adobe Photoshop I change the hair colour of the subject, so I could trail how to do this technique. I used pink colours to do this, to highlight a major change in the hair colour. I think it also goes with the dramatic nature of the photograph. Making it look edgy.

Again I have edited a previous photo from a photo shoot I had done in the past. The photograph was a simple portrait, with the subject holding a prop which symbolised her. The use of props to emphasise characteristics was used in the photographer's Piczo's work which I really loved FIND HERE.

In this photograph the prop emphasises the childishness in the subject, and I used purple and browns colours to colour the hair as it adds a fantasy child-like element to the photograph relating to the prop.

These are my final bottom side surface designs for the nets I have created. I collaged hand-made designs I previously created, and then edited in Adobe Photoshop. I also changed the colour gradient of the images, and assembled them to fit into the net. I also added the ALBOE character to the design, so a connection between the company and the packaging can be made.

Image 1 is the first surface design I created, but the net I made was too short in length.

Image 2 is my second trail of the bottom side of the box surface design.

Image 3 is the net from 'image 2' an assembled together. Once I assembled it, is when I noticed that I did not add enough tabs to the net.

Image 4 is a net with extra tab added to it.


After various trails, I have now a completed net. It was complicated getting the measurements, and overall net correct, but the outcome is quite a success.

These are collages of previously hand-drawn designs which I edited using Adobe Photoshop. I used the gradient tool to experiment with different colours. I like the different colours, and the way this has come out. I think this will look better for the surface of the inside of the box, and then I do further experiments for the outside of the box.

Adding typography to the collages

I wanted to use photography in my typographic poster, so I photographed Rhi here. I played around with the images, so create different effects. The first image is the original, I then went on to converting it to black and white. After I tried collaging the image. I experimented with adding a newspaper collage to the background of the image to see how that would look. I like the effect of collaging the image, and I think it worked quite well so I added the "word vomit" typography I created to it. I was able to edit this all in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Lightroom. The end product looks good, but I think collaging the photography can be distracting from the typography, and make the piece look to busy.
